Sandite Team Animal Rescue (STAR)

Sandite Team Animal Rescue (STAR) was born from a powerful vision in the small town of Sand Springs, Oklahoma. In 2011, a group of dedicated animal lovers, led by Lisa Riggs and Tammy Ervin, noticed a troubling rise in stray and abandoned pets. The local shelter was constantly full, and the city's budget was stretched too thin to manage the growing number of homeless animals. Driven by compassion, Lisa and Tammy, along with other like-minded individuals, formed STAR, a non-profit organization focused on rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens in the Sand Springs area.
